 Conversation with Darby (what I get for trying to do the follow up activity before reading the science lesson on animals catching food)…

Me: So what are ways that people catch their food?

Darby: Throw it up in the air and catch it.

Me: No. No. I mean, like ways they get food.

Darby: Buy it at the store.

Me: No, like if they didn’t have a store. Like 500 years ago or 1000 years ago or 2000 years ago.

Darby: Go to the marketplace.

Me: No! I mean, like how do they go out and get food without buying it? Just getting it. Like what does my Uncle Mike like to do?

Darby: Set traps? 

Me: Yeah, but what is that called? What is the word for killing something?

Darby: Murder? 

Me: Haha! I mean, yes, but…Hunting! I’m talking about hunting…
